Core Methodology: The PCEP Framework

Every workshop is built on the Person-Centered Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) framework, designed by and for the disability community, by Collaborate4Inclusion and adapted for Oregon by Upstream Access.

We begin by mapping your unique capabilities and support needs, then apply that personalized blueprint to all other preparedness topics.

We are committed to accessibility including financial accessibility.

Pricing & Bundles:

  • Single Workshop (in-person attendance): $125

  • Core Topic Bundle (4 workshops): $400

  • Full Series Pass- (All 10 Workshops, including the Go-bag build and Capstone TTX): $1500 for in-person attendance.

  • Virtual Attendance is $10 for those who would like to download the workbooks and free for those who want to take their own notes.

Discounts are available for group enrollment and those experiencing financial hardship. Please contact us for more information.

Your Registration Fee: $110

This is a breakdown of where your registration fee goes for this in-person workshop (Amount Per Attendee (based on a 25 person minimum) / What This Covers):

  • Venue & Logistics ($45.00) -Renting an accessible, safe space for our community to gather.

  • Facilitation & Expertise ($20.00) -Compensating our disability-led facilitators for their time and knowledge.

  • Food & Refreshments ($20.00) -Providing lunch/snacks and beverages to keep everyone comfortable and focused.

  • Workshop Materials ($10.00) -Printing workbooks, handouts, name tags, and other administrative supplies.

  • Liability Insurance ($14.00) -Ensuring we are fully insured to host public events.

  • Technology & Software ($1.00) -A share of our annual Zoom/software subscriptions for hybrid access.

  • Program Sustainability ($15.00) -Allows us to offer scholarships, develop new content, and keep Memento Mei running.

TOTAL: $125.00 per participant

*if you bring a caregiver or support person to support you during the workshop you do not have to pay for them to attend. We would like to know you have a plus one though, so that we can account for them in snacks and room capacity.

Workshop 1: Beyond the Checklist - Your Adaptive Preparedness Framework (P-CEP)

This workshop is a prerequisite for the other workshops-you must complete this workshop before attending the others

Core Concept: This session focuses on creating a visual, actionable plan centered on your unique capabilities and support network.

 What You'll Do: Identify your personal risks, map your strengths and needs using the Capability Wheel, and begin to build out your personalized preparedness plan.

Deliverables: For in-person attendees, you’ll be provided a pre-printed workbook, for our virtual attendees we’ll work with you to get you a virtual workbook.

Core Concept: For those reliant on power for medical and communication devices, a blackout is a primary emergency. Learn to manage energy and information.

Overall Goal: To guide participants in creating a personalized, practical resilience plan for power outages, using their PCEP Capability Wheel as a foundation.

  • Deliverables:

    • A resource list for signing up for local alerts and accessing offline crisis information.

    • A personalized strategy for prioritizing power usage during an outage.

    • Resources for back up power

    • Non-powered solutions where possible

Core Concept: This community-suggested topic seminar addresses a direct need: teaching critical safety skills in an accessible way. Specifically, at home fire safety.

  • Deliverables:

    • A step-by-step, simplified visual guide for using a fire extinguisher (PASS method). If possible we will practice using one. If not we will have fire blankets to try and take home.  

    • A list of resources for practicing skills safely at home.

    • A shared community document of tips and adaptations from other participants.

Workshop 7: Nourishing Resilience: Food Safety & Nutrition

Core Concept: Emergency food is about more than calories. Learn to manage dietary restrictions without power, ensure food safety, and meet nutritional needs during stress, including adaptations for tube feeding and sensory sensitivities.

  • Deliverables:

    • A Personalized Pantry Audit, what are your safe foods and how important would they be to have available in a shelter or evacuation situation?

    • Support in answering the question: How do we ensure access to medical diets, sensory safety foods, adaptive utensils, etc, while displaced or without power.

    • Take home laminated cue cards for meal improvisation.

    • We are building partnerships for nutrition based resources and plan to have giveaways either donated or purchased by us.

Core Concept: Move from a theoretical list to a tangible, personalized kit. Learn the principles of adaptive packing to meet medical, dietary, space, and sensory needs.

  • Deliverables:

    • A started or refined emergency go-bag,

    • a personalized "Kit Contents Card,"

    • a list of affordable, multi-use item swaps.

We’re partnering with HuskyADAPT and WOOF3D printing club to connect our community with the students at the University of Washington who want to help design adaptive technology solutions.

Workshop 10: The Community Resilience Tabletop Exercise

**Prerequisite:** Completion of Workshop 1 is required.

Core Concept: This is where theory meets practice. Participate in a facilitated, FEMA-standard discussion-based exercise where you'll apply your plans to a realistic scenario. Test your go-bag contents, your 911 scripts, and your community web in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

What's Next: This TTX (Table Top Exercise) offers a sneak peek at a future *Summer Functional Exercise*, an immersive real-space simulation.

Fee: $200 - Includes facilitation, materials, a TTX Participant Kit, light refreshments, and insurance.

*In-person attendance capped at 50.*
