Workshop 7: Nourishing Resilience: Food Safety & Nutrition

Core Concept: Emergency food is about more than calories. Learn to manage dietary restrictions without power, ensure food safety, and meet nutritional needs during stress, including adaptations for tube feeding and sensory sensitivities.

  • Deliverables:

    • A Personalized Pantry Audit, what are your safe foods and how important would they be to have available in a shelter or evacuation situation?

    • Support in answering the question: How do we ensure access to medical diets, sensory safety foods, adaptive utensils, etc, while displaced or without power.

    • Take home laminated cue cards for meal improvisation.

    • We are building partnerships for nutrition based resources and plan to have giveaways either donated or purchased by us.
